Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline
Project description
The Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline project consists of a 116 km pipeline connecting the Gladstone and Rockhampton regions in Central Queensland.
The project allows for approximately 30,000 ML of water to be extracted from the Lower Fitzroy River, treated and transferred to the existing GAWB network and its industrial customers near Gladstone.
The project also includes an intake structure, treatment plant, pump stations and reservoirs.
Services provided
SIS Group was engaged for the mainline pipeline excavation using specialist trenching equipment to specifically suit the design requirements. Through a collaborative early contactor involvement, (ECI) we were able to source & procure the equipment from overseas and locally to meet the project milestones commencement dates, shipping and assembly of the largest 150 tonne trencher which came from the UAE into Port of Gladstone, access to which was negotiated with the Port of Gladstone Authority to accept the unusual cargo.
SIS Group provided a fully supported operation to continuously run the equipment during the project, completing the pipeline excavation ahead of schedule.
