Australia’s Largest Wind Farm — With 162 Turbines Macintyre Wind Farm is the Largest Wind Farm in Southern Hemisphere. The Scale of this Project Makes it One of the Largest Onshore Wind Farms in the World.
SIS Group was engaged through an early contractor involvement (ECI) to provide a solution for the underground construction of around 350km of 33kV cable trench excavation which traversed the project in extremely challenging terrain and geology.
Conventional methods of underground construction in the rocky geology would have impacted programme and budget for the client, so SIS Group was able to select and source specialist trenching equipment with rock excavation capabilities to successfully deliver the project to a strict client programme on this iconic project.
