Project description
SIS Group was engaged through an early contractor involvement (ECI) to provide a suitable solution for the complex 33kV underground cables constructions which were required to power the 4 x tunnel boring machines (TBM) The cable routes had to traverse the remote Snowy Mountains national parks area and totalled a distance of over 30km through sensitive environmental locations.
Narrow access working easements & strict environmental control restricted conventional methods of underground construction, so SIS Group was able to select and source specialist trenching equipment with rock excavation capabilities to successfully deliver the project to a strict client programme on this iconic project.
